About Me

Hi there!

This is Mushrit Shabnam, a WordPress enthusiast, former support engineer. I was born and bred in Dhaka, Bangladesh. My expertise includes technical customer support regarding WordPress and SEO. Due to my work experience, I am familiar with troubleshooting using various WordPress plugins, and Yoast SEO plugins’ features.

Support Experience

Yoast

Since 2021 to 2025, I have worked as support engineer at Yoast.

Apart from being a support, I co-hosted eleven Yoast Intro to SEO webinars. This experience helped me learn about SEO more than anything. You can watch old webinars from November 13th , January 16th and May 7th where I appeared. Being a Yoaster is by far the greatest experience of my career. I enjoyed working there, learned from my team leads and teammates from different countries around the world.

Automattic

That was an exciting journey.

I joined Automattic on April 2021 as a Happiness Engineer and worked there for a couple of months. Although it was short period of time, I had the opportunity to met some great people. Overall it was a great experience with massive learning impact that shaped my career.

weDevs

On September 2017, I joined weDevs as a support engineer. During this three years 6 months, I was fortunate enough to work with some great colleagues and great customers who left great notes.

Apart from being a support, I wrote blogs on beginner Git commands, WP User Frontend feature and for weForms.

On 2020, I acted as temporary Product Manager for WP User Frontend features while being primarily assigned for support. On December 2020, I appeared in a webinar, hosted by my former colleague Ahmed Chaion, where I discussed the features and answered questions of the viewers regarding WP User Frontend.

Open Source Contribution 💻

I have started contributing in WordPress forum since 2017 as plugin support. In 2019, I attended the first WordCamp, WordCamp Dhaka. Over the years, my list of contribution is getting its shape. I am listing all the contributions here:

  • Since 2017, I have been a plugin support for multiple well known plugins like Dokan, WP User Frontend and the most popular Yoast SEO plugin.
  • In 2022, I joined online contributor’s day arranged by Yoast where I joined the Documentation table led by Hanna.
  • In 2023, I volenteered WordCamp Asia as time keeper. During contributor’s day, I joined the Testing table.
  • I was one of the release co lead for the Documentation team for WordPress 6.3 and 6.4 in 2023.
  • In WordCamp Dhaka 2025, I moderated the panel discussion for Diversity Equity Inclusion Belonging and WordPress Contribution in our community. Here you can find the shorter version of the video.

How I spend time when I am AFK 🌴

When I am AFK, I love to read books. Sometimes I try to learn new skills, try new recipes and appreciate the trees. I love to travel a lot. Besides I enjoy attending the WordCamps and meeting people from WordPress industry.
