This post will be a new series of life events that happened when I was away from my hometown. This month, I had the opportunity to make a small but very eventful trip in Malaysia.
If anyone visited Malaysia, knows only seven days is not enough to capture the beauty and enjoy everything this country has to offer. It has mountains, rain forests, lovely beach, great people and old towns that whisper history in your ears when you walk by.
Where we Visited in Penang
Georgetown
We started our journey by visiting Georgetown, Penang. Georgetown was once a trading hub where the Chinese shops and temples, buildings of British colonial period and mosques created a melting pot of culture and heritage. Wall arts added a new dimension of beauty for Georgetown. Being near my hotel, I had the wonderful opportunity to enjoy this fabulous town in the evening.

Tropical Spice Garden
Our love for plants and trees influenced my trip to Malaysia. So we decided to visit the Tropical Spice Garden. The tranquility of the place will quietly tell you this not any ordinary garden. They designed the garden in a way that is more like a rain forest. You will just forget the bustling city you left behind. It was so comforting to the ears, eyes and to the mind. There are streams and lotus pond to highlight the aquatic life along with herbs, shrubs, and trees that produce fruit, medicine, spice, beverage and even poison. What I loved the most is each plant has a description of where it is originated from, and the purpose of it. I enjoyed reading those and had all the time I needed to enjoy the beauty of each plant.

The Batu Ferringhi beach was just nearby. When I visit any beach, I like to check the sand and the shells it has. Batu Ferringhi beach consists of tiny stone like sand grains. That was first for me.

Walking around all the spice garden made me tired but I was incredibly happy. Breathing the fresh air of Batu Ferringhi beach while seeing the green hills in it’s cradle, made me realize the painful incidents of our past doesn’t worth a microsecond of the lifespan we’re given.
